What are the good beach towns between pattaya and bangkok?

There's not many beaches between Pattaya and Bangkok as the route takes you inland. There is the Laem Chanbang seaport, but it's mainly know for shipping containers in & out of the country. The best beach in the Pattaya area is Jomtiem, it's a 10-15 min taxi ride south of Pattaya. To avoid the crowds and vendors go to the southern tip of Jomtiem beach.
