Is this movie insulting to the gay community?

Hey there, I'm from Ireland, so Im familiar with the character Bruno as Sacha Baron Cohen featured this character on the Ali G show which began in The U.K and Ireland in 2000, so to be honest this character is 9 years old to us. As a gay man I do not in any way shape or form find Bruno offensive, in fact, on the ali g show (as i ume with the movie) he interviewed people whom were so phobic that they were completely exposed and 'shown up' by Bruno. Its not offensive it satire, simple as that.
