T. Boone Pickens: A man with an energy plan?
It wouldn't be bad except for he's forgetting that most of the power made here, comes from here...There is less than 5% of the energy in this country made from "oil". If he's serious about energy expansion, do more research in the area of coal to oil energy. We have more than enough coal to last 300 to 500 years here in the US. With the amount of money that it costs to procure land and then emble the wind farms it takes years to recoup the investment and make a profit. Also, the windmills only generate 2 to 3 megawatts, but it's environmentally driven...no wind, no energy. I say that we build about 40 new nuclear stations with a minimmum capacity of 1000 megawatts and then we'll see the energy curve go down a little.
