In general, what country in europe has the most positive attitude towards americans?

i know this is a general question but i just want to get the opinions of those who have traveled to europe, in particular, germany. i have read that in general many germans tend to like americans a lot more than say the french. do you agree? i am curious about germany bc i am thinking of studying there. I studied spanish in colombia and loved it and now want to learn either german or maybe french. what european country did you feel the msot welcome in and why? thanks =)
