How do i know for sure if my hymen is broken?

ok, so my biggest worry for my first time, is the pain. so when i found out why it was supposed to hurt so bad, i decided to pop my cherry myself, well i'm pretty sure i got the job done, i bled for a little, nothing too bad like i expected, and there isnt much resistance any more. however ive never tried to use anything wide before, i want that to be a special feeling, and i really want to enjoy myself as much as i can so i dont have to stop him from enjoying himself. any suggestions on how i know for sure without ruining the feeling i am looking for? i can handle pain if i cause it myself, i just really dont want him to think he is hurting me... even if he is. and way i can fake it if i cant fix it? geez i have a lot of questions. i'm just worried thats all.
