Abscess on dachshund- it has ruptured & her inside (tummy) is exposed. I want to adopt her but need advice?

Hi! My hubby and I found the sweetest dachshund/ er spaniel mix puppy at the pound today. She had ingested narcotics (poor baby!) and developed an abscess on her tummy. It has since burst and her stomach muscles are visible through a hole in her tummy. She is on antibiotics but the staff at animal control knows next to nothing about her prognosis. We really want to adopt this sweet dog (she is to be put down on Sat. if not adopted) but I am worried about the tummy hole/ issue. I will take her to our vet (of course) but don't want to be out a whole lot of money (can't afford thousands in vet bills right now- antibiotics/ vaccines/ spaying we can afford but not much else). Does anyone know about this condition? What can we expect and how much will it cost? Thank you sooooo much for your advice. The hole is on her abdomen and is about the size of a silver dollar. It doesn't appear to be infected but according to her chart at the shelter she was running a fever two days ago.
